Art | Signage

Vistek provide specialist engineering capabilities to the field of Arts installations, Wayfinding and Signage. This levergaes our design capbilities in non-standard materials such as aluminium, acryilcs and epoxy bonded connections. We achieve designs that deliver on the aesthietic intent whilst also being buildable through strong collaboration across the supply chain.

LED and Large Format Outdoor Marketing

The common billboard has rapidly evolved to ensure they remain a strong communication channel in a marketing landscape where "real world" interaction and experiences are less available. Our design approach rationalises the design reducing foundation sizes - allowing for safer builds in restricted sites.

We also efficiently design the steel supporting structures to align with supply chain availability of materials and the fabricator's capabilities. And also ensure works can be completed expediently so as to reduce the need for traffic management.1

Fit-Outs and Interiors

As branding in both public spaces, retail and private offices has grown in importance as clients seek to create an experiential message to support their core values, the complexity of the engineering work has similarly increased.

Our capabilities and experiences support the design process with technical knowledge but also the overall project delivery. Our understanding of how to approach "as-built" conditions, the restrictions on construction in operating environments and the challenges access to such areas can pose to designs provides a well-rounded service to this bespoke area of engineering.

Geelong Waterfront Christmas Tree

Standing 25 m tall and weighing approximately 15 tonnes, Geelong’s iconic floating Christmas tree is a hallmark of festive celebration. The structure features over 11,000 reflective discs and more than 400 LED lights, creating a stunning waterfront spectacle that draws tourists and boosts the local economy.

Built as a modular structure, it’s designed for easy assembly and storage—deployed from November to January each year before being dismantled in February. The engineering behind it ensures durability in coastal conditions, using 10 tonnes of hot-dip galvanized RHS frames, ladders, angles, brackets, and plates, supplemented by stainless steel and aluminium components.

The hot-dip galvanizing process, performed locally in Geelong, protects the steel from corrosion and enabled fast fabrication—critical for the seven-week construction window. The result is an impressive, resilient decorative landmark that enhances Geelong’s riverside charm year after year.

Wayfinding - Retail and Shopping Centres

At high-traffic venues like shopping centres, wayfinding goes far beyond signage—it’s a finely tuned engineering challenge that balances public safety, crowd interaction, and micro-detailed execution. The user experience also requires an adherence to the design intent to ensure brand consistency is achieved.

Public safety demands both visible and hidden support: from seismically rated sign structures to strategic vertical stacking, each element must withstand impacts or vibrations. We integrate these factors and work closely with designers and the outcome is a seamless wayfinding network—clear, durable, and safe—designed to guide shoppers intuitively, minimize stress, and elevate the retail experience through meticulous engineering and thoughtful detailing.

National Brand Upgrades and Roll-Outs

We have specialist experience in supporting large capital works for brands with a presence across Australia. This can require supporting large works across hundreds of sites in various states and wind conditions.

We are certified to perform works in all Australian states and territories and have integrated document systems to better collaborate with clients when they are managing works at many location.

Our ability to achieve cost efficiencies through DtS pathways as well as manage Safety in Design considerations can be even more beneficial when structural elements will be repeated across Australia.
