Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club

Vistek provided pro-bono engineering for the new Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club (PLSLSC) facility. Working on this project was a highlight for Vistek on many levels.

PLSLSC is an important community organisation, and one Vistek’s founding Svars family has been closely involved with for generations. We are pleased to be able to contribute in such a substantial way to its future. The new building is a community effort all round. The New Clubhouse Capital Campaign Committee (NCCCC) raised $2.25 million dollars in funds for the build, mainly from community donations.

Over 100 community members gather on the lawn, some with spades to "turn the sod" for the start of construction

JCB Architects designed the new two storey building. The facility will be a cultural hub as well as fulfilling the club’s vital emergency services functions. It incorporates a kiosk, bar, kitchen, retail/office and meeting rooms, as well as storage and work spaces for life saving equipment and training. Timber finishes tie the interior and exterior spaces together. A large area of terraced decking and public lawn will provide a flexible and active community space.

We look forward to seeing the new space soon.
