This project was the first mass timber building completed in our office, and one of Australia’s first residential CLT houses.

Our design cleverly married the CLT structure with a Surefoot footing system, eliminating the need for any concrete foundations on site. By removing concrete from the design we were able to significantly reduce waste and disturbance on site. No excavations were necessary.

Using Surefoot also hastened the already quick install schedule of CLT. The small crew installed the foundation system in just 1 day, and the CLT itself in 5 days. Sounds unbelievable?
