The Barry Street CLT project is starting to come to life. Vistek have been working closely with builders Atelier Projects on the design and construction of Barry Street, a new CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) building. The project, by Milieu Property in collaboration with Fieldwork, is a residential development in Brunswick. The Barry Street construction will form 21 individual townhouses once completed.

We are very excited to now see the arrival of the panels onsite from Austria’s KLH and witness the project take shape. This development is the first of several projects in Brunswick that Vistek is involved in. It is the first of several projects that see Vistek collaborating with KLH.

KLH’s Austria factory ready to dispatch the CLT.

The video of the install below shows just how effective mass timber construction can be in compact spaces. For instance, the manufacturers prefabricate the CLT elements with an extremely high level of precision. The builders can therefore install the prefabricated elements with a minimum of fuss, and a single crane. These townhouses look to be highly livable and comfortable spaces, and it is great to see it getting underway.
